The birthplace of the environmental movement shouldn’t just talk about being green, we need to return to being a leader. Climate Change is impacting our future, and we must all be committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing resilience. One way is by reducing vehicle miles driven through greater transportation and mobility options.
According to a City report, its fleet still does not run on 100% electricity, bio gas, propane or cng. The City can, and must do more. We need to turn our entire City fleet to 100% renewable energy, add multiple charging stations, and implement a bike share program in the City. No more sitting on the sidelines we need to get busy with a plan that will shape Santa Barbara’s future for years to come and become a model city once again. As your Councilmember I will make this a priority.
